This week, we shone the spotlight on a some of our backend development team members. It was an exciting and intriguing time getting to know some of the faces behind our products. In this pilot edition of The Spotlight, let’s meet Opeyemi, a backend dev for Centiiv.

I’m Opeyemi
I work as a backend dev for centiiv
How did you come into tech? What was the big push?
I guess I have always loved creating things, and was interested in tech. Thing that personally got me to tech was blockchain. I liked the technology, learnt about it and got to write code with it. I feel thats where I started.
Interesting, so how is it like working as a developer for Centiiv?
Its very nice. I have definitely learnt alot. Seen what skills are needed in the industry and went ahead to learn them with the guidance from people I have met here. So for sure I have bettered myself working here
Oh, you started with Centiiv?
Yeahh, never had a job in tech before. Started of as in intern last year.
That’s so cool! So, can you tell your experience developing the recent products for the brand?
Its nice to see how organised all processes are. All departments helping each other out…working together to produce the products for the team. We all have the same goal at the end, but that organisation and team feeling is a very nice experience.
What need do you think these products will solve?
It will give Nigerians and Africans as a whole more freedom with their crypto. Many people have crypto but don’t know what to do with them. Centiiv is creating that solution
Great. How do you see the work culture here at Centiiv? The work ethics. Is it something you find cool with? Is it playful, fun or stressful?
I would say we have the freedom needed as devs
I do find it fun though. Not stressful at all
